Growing

I've learned from past experiences that when I am 'weak', He IS strong. When I depend solely on the Lord, it's His opportunity to display His power. He is the same today, yesterday and tomorrow. His love, grace, mercy, faithfulness never waivers." I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".- Phillipians 4:13 I've also learned the best way to get out of 'self' (that's me) is to reach out to others. I'm reaching out, will you take my hand and walk with me awhile?

Feedback

I welcome your feedback. Please feel free to contact me by email, snail mail, or phone. I look forward to hearing from you. So much of this is "new" to me. I'm learning right along side the best of you. As I mentioned before I prayed for a very long time many many prayers. I felt God's answer to my prayers was this ministry, helping the homeless. I heard a still small voice  "you can do that, why don't you give it a try?" I reflected upon that and my thoughts were, if this truly is His will for me, then He shall see me through.

Services

Providing much needed hygiene, wellness, and toiletry items to our city's homeless population here on the Western Slope of Colorado in Grand Junction and the Grand Valley. Many of our homeless are Veterans, teens, and young adults, many with families all struggling to survive. I consider myself fortunate, spoiled really,  that I have a roof over my head and food to eat. There are so many 'unfortuntes' who do not. A soft word, a smile, a hot cup of coffee or a pair of warm gloves or socks mean so much to folks who have so little. You might say there are 'soup kitchens' and 'food banks' and shelters right here and 'Yes!" there are, but they don't get toothpaste, shampoo, soap, deoderant, warm socks, band-aids, etc. there. Anyone of them will tell you the shelters are spilling over without enough space to help everyone who goes there. . . and many of these items you & I take for granted every single day. . . . and there are those who have none . . . I don't want to miss a chance to share the Love of God with a single soul.

Collecting items for, putting together, and distributing bags is all I'm doing with this project in these beginning stages. Which is alot actually I've researched companies online and written at least 25+ letters to corporations and companies requesting donations of items used to stuff bags. I shopped for and funded these first bags with what I've got. I want to give a shout out to The Pocket Testament League, or PTL for donating 60 copies of "The Gospel of John". I urge you to check out their site too at www.ptl.org.  Building a website, getting set up on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest has all been work, and I'm not complaining just saying there's only one of me. While remaining grateful, I choose to do the 'next right thing'.

. . a humble beginning
